M.C. Beaton Rises Up UK Library Charts

Statistics from the UK's Public Lending Right organization show that M.C. Beaton has risen to become the UK's 8th most borrowed author, rising from 13th place in 2010, and 29th place in 2009.

The PLR administers royalty payments to the over 50,000 registered authors in the UK based on the number of loans their books receive over the year. While the authors in the top 5 spots have not changed, last year saw a resurgence in crime writing, overtaking romance as the number one genre. And in a chart increasingly dominated by US authors, M.C. Beaton has risen to become the number 2 crime author in the charts overall.
